Bonding
Reconstruction of damaged anterior teeth, repair of damaged enamel (cracks or chips), and closure of a diastema (gaps between central incisors) are elements of tooth reconstruction that we perform at the Luxdentica Dental Center in Krakow as part of our Artistic Bonding service.
When is bonding used?
Bonding is most commonly used for minor problems with front teeth to significantly improve their aesthetics, with minimal interference in the tooth structure. How is this possible? In short, bonding rebuilds teeth and restores a natural white color to discolored surfaces. For this purpose, a composite resin is used, which the dentist places on the tooth surfaces. Sometimes there is a need for greater interference in the tooth structure - then an additional composite material is also used. During the procedure, the composite filling bonds with the hard tissues of the tooth, which rebuilds their surface and restores a shiny, white appearance. This is an excellent alternative for patients who do not want excessive interference with their tooth enamel, e.g., when getting porcelain veneers.
Crucially - composite bonding allows for teeth to be refreshed and restored during a single visit to the dental office. Bonding is a solution whose effect lasts from 2 to 5 years. However, the work must be subjected to regular polishing.
Artistic Bonding
At the Luxdentica Dental Center in Krakow, we offer our patients the Artistic Bonding procedure, which allows for minimally invasive restoration of damaged teeth. This treatment is not comparable to traditional dental fillings, as the quality, aesthetics, and durability of artistic bonding hold a higher value than traditional fillings. For the artistic bonding filling, the patient receives an extended quality guarantee of up to 5 years at Luxdentica. The only thing to keep in mind is to maintain regular contact with your dentist, as the procedure requires periodic maintenance in the form of polishing the tooth surfaces.
To perform an Artistic Bonding reconstruction, the following is always used:
Dental microscope and magnifying glasses – viewing the treated tooth under high magnification allows for seeing every detail in its structure.
Top-class enamel composite – is completely indistinguishable from the natural structures of one's own tooth.
Aesthetic dye – allows for giving the filling an individual character.
Appropriate treatment technique – carefully, layer-by-layer modeled fillings perfectly recreate the structure of the tooth.
Rubber dam (commonly: saliva shield) – dryness of the treatment field is the key to its durability. Only precise isolation of the tooth from the oral environment allows for the use of special materials.
Replacing existing fillings in the front teeth that do not meet the patient's aesthetic expectations, restoring shiny white teeth, speed of performance, and long-term durability are the most essential elements of Artistic Bonding. However, it should be remembered that this method will not be effective in every case. Therefore, it is worth consulting the possibility of its implementation with your dentist beforehand.
