Piezosurgery Robot

Piezosurgery Robot

This is a technologically advanced device for performing precise procedures in the field of dental surgery. The robot utilizes piezoelectric technology, making it possible to perform micrometric cuts in bone tissue. These procedures are fully controlled, safe, and extremely precise.

Piezoelectricity

Piezoelectricity is, in short, the ability to change the shape of a material under the influence of energy generated from mechanical stress. The device utilizes the physical properties of certain crystals that exhibit the piezoelectric phenomenon. Thanks to the diverse shapes and types of coating on the device tips (e.g., titanium nitride, diamond grit), they can be used in almost all oral surgery procedures.

The Piezosurgery robot has a very low heat emission, which minimizes the risk of tissue necrosis in the area of the cut - only hard tissues are sensitive to the vibration range used by Piezosurgery - so there is no risk of damaging soft tissues. This is particularly important when the procedure is performed in the vicinity of nerves or blood vessels.

Accelerated healing

Thanks to the use of piezoelectric vibrations and proper cooling of the treatment area using an irrigation system, the bone tissue at the incision margin does not overheat or undergo necrosis. Additionally, as a result of ultrasonic vibrations, the phenomenon of cavitation occurs. Healing processes are accelerated, and swelling and inflammation are less extensive. The sum of these factors shortens the recovery period and reduces the number of post-treatment complications.

Security

Mectron Piezosurgery has been designed to ensure complete patient safety during the procedure performed by the dental surgeon. The robot is equipped with a 'feedback system' – an automatic control system that continuously optimizes the movement of the working tip. Based on resonance, the need to increase or decrease power is detected – the robot adapts the movement of the tip according to the clinical situation.

Application

Thanks to a wide range of over 100 different tips, Piezosurgery can be used in most dental surgery procedures, such as:

  • Sinus lift

  • Extraction

  • Explantation

  • Implant site preparation

  • Bone block grafting

  • Ridge splitting

  • Periodontal treatment

  • Orthodontic surgery

  • Orthognathic surgery

To ensure maximum comfort and safety for our Patients during dental surgery procedures, at the Luxdentica Dental Center we use the Mectron Piezosurgery device in almost every one of the aforementioned operations.
