If you want your smile to be visibly brighter, you have at least a few options. At the Luxdentica Dental Center in Krakow, we offer as many as three whitening methods. We know that every Patient has different needs, so if your teeth are hypersensitive, we especially recommend the PREVDENT system, which regenerates the enamel during the treatment and at the same time reduces hypersensitivity. For people who want to take care of their white smile on their own, we recommend teeth whitening using the tray method. The third method proposed by Luxdentica, particularly recommended for people who want quick and safe teeth whitening, is the BEYOND System.
BEYOND whitening system
One of the most popular whitening methods we use at Luxdentica is the BEYOND system. At the beginning, a dentist or a dental hygienist protects the gums with a special material, and then a special preparation is applied to the teeth. The active preparation (in this case, hydrogen peroxide) applied to the enamel surfaces is subjected to three-fold exposure, 15 minutes each, using a special lamp. Thanks to this procedure, chemical compounds that accelerate the action of the preparation are activated. The effect is immediate - teeth gain a visibly brighter shade. The procedure is performed during a single visit to the dental office and takes about 1 hour.
PREVDENT for sensitive teeth
The second whitening system, which is performed entirely in the dental office, is PREVDENT. This tooth whitening method was developed for patients diagnosed with tooth sensitivity. The whitening procedure is similar to that of the BEYOND system, however, in addition to hydrogen peroxide, the preparation contains a special compound that effectively blocks sensitivity: nano-hydroxyapatite. This is the compound that tooth enamel is made of, so in addition to whitening, we also gain regeneration and reconstruction of the enamel. We also use a lamp for this system, but this time the preparation is exposed to light about 6 times for 12 minutes. The PREVDENT whitening treatment takes about 2 hours.
At-home tray teeth whitening
This is a system of individually fitted, transparent trays created by a dental technician based on a dental impression taken from the Patient. In this case, for a period of several days, the Patient performs teeth whitening at home by applying active gel into the trays. Due to the gentler and longer action of the preparation, this whitening method is recommended for use at night, before going to sleep. Teeth whitening takes place automatically during sleep. The tray method can be treated as a standalone whitening treatment or as a continuation and maintenance of the results achieved after in-office lamp whitening. The combination of the two systems, LAMP WHITENING + TRAY WHITENING, gives the Patient the best and long-lasting results, even for several years.
What should you know before whitening your teeth?
The effectiveness of all whitening methods used at the Luxdentica Dental Center is comparable, but the final result depends on several factors. After each treatment, a so-called "white diet" is required for about 48 hours. This is a time during which you should avoid foods and drinks that stain teeth, such as coffee, tea, red wine, or cola-type drinks. This has a huge impact on maintaining the whitening results!
Each whitening treatment should be preceded by a consultation. This will allow the best method to be tailored to your expectations and also to check if there are any health contraindications to the procedure. Correctly and professionally performed teeth whitening should be safe for you and your enamel. Therefore, we do not recommend whitening your teeth on your own with products that have not been tested and verified by a dentist.
