The unit engages in activities related to exposure to ionizing radiation, which involve:
Operating and using devices that generate ionizing radiation; permission granted by the Małopolskie Voivodship State Sanitary Inspectorate: operation and use of X-ray devices at Lubostroń 22g, apartment 7, Krakow, based on decisions no. 2/84/2016, 1/79/2016, 2/185/2019.
The unit conducts monitoring of employees' exposure using:
- Personal dosimeters – during the last year (2022), the measured effective dose did not exceed the measurable background level.
The permissible exposure value to ionizing radiation is:
- For employees, the dose limit expressed as the effective dose is 20 mSv per calendar year;
- For members of the general public, the dose limit expressed as the effective dose is 1 mSv per calendar year.
Conclusion:
Based on the measured and calculated doses, it is concluded that the activities in the past year did not have a negative impact on human health and the environment. The facility does not release radioactive substances into the environment.
