Inhalation sedation

For patients who have a particularly strong fear of the dentist, treatment combined with inhalation sedation is recommended. Just before the procedure, a special mask is used to administer a laughing gas mixture (a blend of medical oxygen and nitrous oxide) to the patient, which immediately reduces anxiety and tension, inducing a state of complete relaxation. The gas can be safely used for children and is also an effective method in many cases for combating dental phobia.

An advantage of inhalation sedation is also the observed change in patients' attitudes towards treatment. Many of them, after a few visits, decide to discontinue using the gas, no longer being afraid of the dentist. This is a significant advantage, especially for individuals who have been postponing their visit to the clinic for a long time due to severe anxiety. Now, this can change.

Nitrous oxide does not cause drowsiness and allows for full patient interaction. Its effects wear off after a short while, enabling patients to drive as soon as 20 minutes after the appointment.
